Braveheart - Hung/drawn/quarted?

On the film "Braveheart", when William Wallace is getting Hung, Drawn, and Quarted, just before he shouts out ‘Freedom’ he is having trouble talking. Is this becuase they just disembowled him or becuase of the drawn’ing
