well in HISTORY, william wallace was born innocent under english oppression in scotland and ireland. he was well rounded because he was a family man, as well as a great motivator and leader.

In the movie, well, he IS mel gibson after all.

What part of the movie Braveheart were accurate?

Very, very little. There was a William Wallace and he *did* fight for Scotland’s freedeom. However, there’s not much after that in the film that is historically accurate. William Wallace never had an affair with Isabelle. The Battle of Sterling Bridge was filmed without a bridge. Robert the Bruce’s father wasn’t a leper… etc. etc.

I Need help with some Braveheart movie questions for History class?

Posted by admin on October 3rd, 2009 and filed under braveheart movie | 1 Comment »

We watched the movie in class and had a study guide to fill out, these are some questions I didn’t pick up on during the movie. I thought maybe someone who has seen the movie a lot would be able to help me on them. Thanks!!!

1. Who did King Edward I "Longshanks" choose as a wife for his son, the prince?
2. What is Edward’s solution to the trouble with Scotland? How does he plan to fix that it’s full of Scots?
3. What does Stephen manage to do that no one else has been able to?
4. Who warns William of the English surprise attack?
5. Who gives William his word that he will help fight the English at Falkirk?
6. What do the nobles do at the battle of Falkirk?
7. What happens to William at Edinborough?

The answer to your 2nd question would be that Edward’s noble’s or I think any englishman could sleep with any Scottish girl who was married on their wedding night in the hopes that they could breed out the Scots out of Scotland.
Sorry I couldn’t answer any other questions you have here but it’s been awhile since I’ve seen that movie.

did you like the movie braveheart?

i watched it for the first time today, and i think it is a wonderful movie.
i am scottish, and i didnt know about scottish history.

ps. i know not EVERYTHING in it is true.

I loved the movie Braveheart. I’m not Scottish, but I learned a lot about Scottish history and the courage and valor of the Scottish people. Mel Gibson did a great job, both in acting and directing.

Have you seen the movie Braveheart…and did you cry at any point during the movie…?

Braveheart Movie: When speaking to William, Robert the Bruce tries tell him why the scottish nobles wont join?

Posted by admin on September 27th, 2009 and filed under braveheart movie | 4 Comments »

the rebellion by saying,

"The nobles have lands and castles. It’s much to risk."

Wallace responds by saying,

"And the common man dies he risk any less?

Question: DOES THE COMMON MAN RISK ANY LESS GOING OFF TO WAR THAN A NOBLEMAN??????

Absolutely not! If you look in the context of that particular movie, the nobles go to war, make deals, get more land and money, then leave. The nobles are corrupt, which is why Wallace kills them later (mace in the bed??? ooh yes). The noblemen whine because they risk their wealth and lands, but the common man risks his LIFE! They care little about losing their homes… They want their freedom! They don’t fight for their castles, they fight for the rights and their freedoms!

Why is the movie Braveheart named Braveheart?

Well that’s a common knowledge my friend. Just make it s 2 word title and then switch them and you will get Heart Brave. The heart of a brave man, that is William Wallace.
