A question about william wallace in Braveheart?

Posted by admin on September 25th, 2009 and filed under braveheart |

Just wondering, when they are burying Maren and William Wallace goes and kneels in front of her father and he’s all holding onto his hair, is that a scottish thing like it’s the son’s place, but since william’s father is dead he’s kneeling in front of Maren’s? Or is it just to mourn with maren’s father? I’m just confused about the reason.

I believe he is begging for forgiveness for not having protected her.

Firstly although quite a reasonable film…it was NOTHING like what actually happened in that time period…i know they arent stupid but i pity the people in north America who believe that what they see in these historical films are true…watch documentaries by the BBC…there you go…real British history. So dont bug yourself over it…also…why is this in royalty? lol. just wondering.

its poetic license, not a bit like the real thing ,it was that far out it would not have surprised me if Oliver Cromwell had turned up in it
