the rebellion by saying,
"The nobles have lands and castles. It’s much to risk."
Wallace responds by saying,
"And the common man dies he risk any less?
Question: DOES THE COMMON MAN RISK ANY LESS GOING OFF TO WAR THAN A NOBLEMAN??????
Absolutely not! If you look in the context of that particular movie, the nobles go to war, make deals, get more land and money, then leave. The nobles are corrupt, which is why Wallace kills them later (mace in the bed??? ooh yes). The noblemen whine because they risk their wealth and lands, but the common man risks his LIFE! They care little about losing their homes… They want their freedom! They don’t fight for their castles, they fight for the rights and their freedoms!

Just a movie my friend. BTW - Wallace was the son of a minor nobleman/landowner himself, but as someone else was saying Randall Wallace (not William Wallace) was just saying that we are all equal. This is something we pride ourselves on in Scotland. I don’t think Scotland is as class based a society as England is.
