Iconic movies of Generation X.?

My wife and I bought a new house, and I was "given" one of the bedrooms to do as I please. I turned the room into a media room with TV, xbox, etc. I want to hang some framed posters of iconic movies of Generation X. I am thinking movies like Pulp Fiction, Braveheart, etc. Movies that will transcend the generations like Casablanca and Gone with the Wind have.

So what are your suggestions?

I am gen X… movies that talked to my generation…

Pulp Fiction
Usual Suspects
Office Space
MAtrix
Fargo
6th Sense
Schindlers List
La Confidential
Titanic
Silence of the Lambs
Austin Powers
Mallrats, jay & silent bob, dogma… that gang of movies
White Men Cant jump
All movies by Chris Farley would have to apply also
Forrest Gump

Unfortunately most of the staple movies of that time are violent

Does anyone think the movie braveheart is a true story or based on one?

Do you think braveheart is a truye story? I ask because I do think it’s true. Many have told me though that nothing has been found from that time period though so not many are sure.

There was a guy named William Wallace who was an important figure when the Scots were fighting against English rule. But I doubt that most of what happened in the movie is true. The big strokes were true, I’m sure, including Wallace’s death, but the rest was made up to make a good movie.

What are your favorite films from the following genres?

Okay I love movies in general, and I’ve seen and liked hundreds of movies..

Movies I liked:

Gladiator, Braveheart, King Arthur, Alexander, Robin Hood (2010), 10000 BC, Lord of the Rings series, 300, Kingdom of Heaven, TROY. <– movies set in ancient times.

A Walk to Remember, Dear John, Remember Me, The Notebook, Cold Mountain, Tristan + Isolde, Stardust. <– romances.

28 Days Later, 28 Weeks Later, 30 Days of Night, Dawn of the Dead, Zombieland, Resident Evil (all of them), I Am Legend. <– zombie movies :)

Tears of the Sun, Black Hawk Down, Jurassic Park series, Harry Potter series, Rocky Balboa, Million Dollar Baby!, Seven Pounds, Underworld trilogy, 2012, The Day After Tomorrow, Avatar!, Defiance, Death Race, Fight Club, Flight of the Phoenix, I Robot, Law Abiding Citizen, Predators, Pitch Black, V for Vendetta.

SORRY for the huge list, but as you can see I’ve seen so many movies and those are just my favourites… I’m struggling to find more xD so if you know any good movies, please suggest them and give a little description :) I usually watch the trailer if I find a title that I like. Thanks!!

A couple of different ones that are also well-known but you might not have seen: Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Pan’s Labyrinth.

I’ve seen heaps of movies too but the thing is that a lot of them are so forgettable, so I know how you feel about trying to find good ones to watch!

Try something like Metacritic to see some of the highest rated movies of all time (or recent, if you change the settings): http://www.metacritic.com/browse/movies/score/metascore/all?sort=desc
