What is the most epic speech you’ve heard in a film?
For me it has to be in Braveheart
When William Wallace is motivating the Scottish army before the Battle of Stirling
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WLrrBs8JBQo
I’m expecting a few people to say speeches in American sports related films
Like Al Pacino’s Inch by Inch speech in Any Given Sunday
And the speech in Friday Night Lights
Oh yeah and the one Denzel Washington gives in Remember the Titans, when they visited that battlefield
Cheers Patel, there was a Denzel Washington one in Remember the Titans
"I don’t care if you like each other or not, but you will respect each other"
Weird how some of these films can give you profound life lessons sometimes
Brad Pitts great depression speech in Fight Club is pretty sick.
"Man, I see in Fight Club the strongest and smartest men who’ve ever lived. I see all this potential, and I see it squandered. God damn it, an entire generation pumping gas, waiting tables – slaves with white collars. Advertising has us chasing cars and clothes, working jobs we hate so we can buy shit we don’t need. We’re the middle children of history, man. No purpose or place. We have no Great War. No Great Depression. Our great war is a spiritual war. Our great depression is our lives. We’ve all been raised on television to believe that one day we’d all be millionaires, and movie gods, and rock stars, but we won’t. We’re slowly learning that fact. And we’re very, very pissed off."
What is the best Pre-battle movie speech?
I’m Just wondering what all of you might think the best or few best pre-battle speeches are in reasonably modern films.
Here are a few i think were good:
Aragorn - Lord of the Rings: Return of the King
Theoden - Lord of the Rings: Return of the King
Artorius - King Arthur
William Wallace - Braveheart
Leonidis - 300
I may have forgotten a few so put in any other ones youmight know
Patton (1970)
"Now I want you to remember that no bastard ever won a war by dying for his country. He won it by making the other poor dumb bastard die for his country."
And countless other quotes..

King Arthur,Krull,The Beastmaster.
Three worse movies that everyone likes?
My ones are:
TOP GUN
For those of you who don’t remember, "Top Gun" was the movie about a bunch of guys who stand around high-fiving each other for about 90 minutes. The movie focuses on some loser named "Maverick" who penetrates deep into the coveted veil of the top gun academy of smug, sexually frustrated aviators. I know many of you reading this will probably think I’m exaggerating when I say this, but there were no fewer than 500 shower scenes in this movie. The wardrobe for this film must have consisted of a towel, a jump suit, and 50 pages of gay innuendo, because the rest of the time Tom Cruise and Val Kilmer were walking around naked eyeing each other’s packages.
Then as if the director didn’t think all the high-fiving and shower scenes were suggestive enough, there was a gratuitous scene in which all the guys got oiled up and played volleyball. Every few minutes I half-expected to see Cruise and Kilmer lock lips to a ballad of "It’s Raining Men:"
If you remember having good memories of this movie, then it was probably because you were too young to know what was going on, or an idiot. Don’t bother resurrecting this classic to prove I’m right.
BRAVEHEART
Synopsis: a portly Mel Gibson stumbles around in poorly choreographed battle scenes in which the camera men can’t hold their cameras still long enough for you to realize the extras in the background are standing around with their dicks in their hands.
I’m sure if you’re a fan of Braveheart you’re probably saying "BUT MADOX YOU ARE MISSING THE POINT OF THE MOVIE, WHO CARES ABOUT CAMERA WORK LOL?" Everyone always thinks the battle scenes in this movie were awesome; even people who didn’t like the movie say "…but the battle scenes were done well." What the hell do you know about battle scenes? You’re a team manager for an insurance company, go manage something. People watch Mel Gibson running around with his b*tch t*ts for a few hours and they suddenly think they’re experts on swordery (swordery is like sorcery with swords).
Why does every battle scene in the universe have to have a shaky cam? Just whose view point are we seeing this from anyway? Wow, the cam is shaky, I feel like I’m right in the battle, looking through the eyes of some idiot who can’t fight, yet he still can’t focus on an object for more than a few seconds. Hey a*ssholes, here’s an idea: how about the perspective of someone who got stabbed in the face? The camera would just sit there staring up at the blue sky as an occasional limb would come flying across, or someone would trip over his body. That would be t*its.
KARATE KID
I think no further comment is necessary.
DON’T GET ME STARTED ON TWILIGHT!
Twilight the 2nd twilight and the next one. haha HATE EM!

I like this idea for a question!
What are 5 things that are false in history in the movie braveheart?
Historian Elizabeth Ewan describes Braveheart as a film which "almost totally sacrifices historical accuracy for epic adventure".[23] There are certainly some historical facts which are correct, such as the fact that William Wallace is rumoured to be "Seven feet tall," which he actually was rumoured to be.
The title of the film is also historically inaccurate as the "brave heart" refers in Scottish history to that of Robert the Bruce, and an attribution by William Edmondstoune Aytoun, in his poem Heart of Bruce, to Sir James the Good: "Pass thee first, thou dauntless heart, As thou wert wont of yore!", prior to Douglas’s demise at the Battle of Teba in Andalusia.[24]
Historian Sharon Krossa notes that the film contains numerous historical errors, beginning with the wearing of belted plaid by Wallace and his men. She points out that in the period in question, "… no Scots … wore belted plaids (let alone kilts of any kind)."[25] Moreover, when Highlanders finally did begin wearing the belted plaid, it was not "in the rather bizarre style depicted in the film."[25] She compares the inaccuracy to "… a film about Colonial America showing the colonial men wearing 20th century business suits, but with the jackets worn back-to-front instead of the right way around."[25] She remarks "The events aren’t accurate, the dates aren’t accurate, the characters aren’t accurate, the names aren’t accurate, the clothes aren’t accurate—in short, just about nothing is accurate."[26]
However, there is some evidence that some clothes were dyed plaid long before William Wallace’s time. The museum of Scotland published an article about a piece of cloth, dated about the second century BC, declaring that "the cloth has a simpled check design, an early form of tartan. Such checks were popular among the native population." [27]
Historian Alex von Tunzelmann writing in The Guardian noted several historical inaccuracies: William Wallace never met Princess Isabella, as she married King Edward II three years after Wallace’s death (and was no older than ten when Wallace died); because her marriage to Edward took place after he had ascended the throne, she never held the title Princess of Wales; and the primae noctis decree was never used by King Edward.[28] In 2009, the film was second on a list of "most historically inaccurate movies" in The Times.[29]
Portrayal of Robert the Bruce
The portrayal of Robert I of Scotland (Robert the Bruce) in the film is considered by historians to be wildly inaccurate. In particular his taking the field on the English side in the battle of Falkirk is completely fictitious; Bruce was not present at Falkirk. Although he repeatedly changed alliances between the rebels and the English, mostly for political reasons, Bruce never betrayed Wallace directly, and Wallace was not known to have been a staunch supporter of Bruce. The film’s depiction of the Battle of Stirling Bridge shows the Scots facing off the English on a flat plain on equal terms, when in reality, it took place at a bridge where the outnumbered Scots were able to concentrate their forces on the overextended English who were in the process of crossing the bridge.
Is there any scene in the movie Braveheart where it shows the upper class British people dining?
Just wondering what the movie shows the upper class British people (king and nobles) are eating, if the movie does show this.
Not that I remember…I think they sit around a table having a meeting at one point, but aren’t dining. Also, this may have been for the Irish side.
If Braveheart is real why don’t the modern Scots kick the Brits out of their country?
I don’t even think that Scots and Brits are even the same ethnicity. Everyone hates the Brits so why doesn’t Scotland give its southern neighbors a good kicking?
Scotland is part of the island of Great Britain.
It is part of the country called United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
Scottish people are British citizens.
You are a troll. I see my response to your last trolling question was reported.
Post this crap again and I’ll report YOU. Clear?
